Germantown Telephone Co. Earns Distinguished Marketing AwardGermantown, New York, June 20, 2006 – Germantown Telephone Company (GTC) recently received an ONYX Award for Marketing presented by the New York State Telecommunications Association (NYSTA). ONYX stands for “Observing New York’s Excellence” among the New York State Telecommunications Company. The award, honoring GTC’s 100th Anniversary Celebration as most innovative was presented to Kara Warner, Marketing Coordinator, at the 85th Annual NYSTA Conference held in Lake Placid, New York on June 5, 2006.
GTC is a family-owned independent telephone company, based in Germantown, providing local telephone service to almost 3,000 subscribers in Columbia County. GTC is also the parent company of Valstar, Inc., a diversified service provider offering cable and digital television connections, long-distance service, 24-hour paging services, cellular phone service, network solutions, and Internet access in Columbia, Dutchess, and Ulster counties. Valstar also offers high-speed digital subscriber line (DSL) service, currently to customers in GTC’s 537 telephone exchange. |
