Advanced Features

Almost like having a personal assistant. Germantown Telephone’s Advanced Calling features are for customers who want their telephone to return calls, screen calls, trace calls, and forward preferred calls to another number. You can even program your telephone to give you a wake-up call.

Repeat Dialing: Allows you to dial *66 to have your phone continuously (up to 30 minutes) attempt to redial a busy number. When the line is free, you will be alerted with a special ring, and your call will automatically be made. You can also use Repeat Dialing to redial the last number you called.

Call Return: Allows you to dial *69 and have a call automatically returned to the last party who called or attempted to call you.

Call Trace: By dialing *57 you can automatically request a trace of an obscene, threatening, or harassing call. After receiving such a call, you simply dial a special code to have the calling party’s phone number printed at the telephone company. Programs your telephone line to ring with a special ringing pattern whenever you are called by anyone from a predetermined list of phone numbers. Your phone will ring with a normal ringing pattern for all calls from other calling numbers. If you also have Call Waiting, you will hear a distinctive Call Waiting tone whenever someone on your list calls you while you are on the phone.

Preferred Call Forwarding: Creates a list of phone numbers that are to be forwarded when they call you. When you activate this feature and a call arrives from a phone number that is on your list, the call is forwarded. All other calls will ring your phone in the normal fashion.

Call Screening: Creates a list of phone numbers from which you do not wish to receive calls. Calls from phone numbers on your list are sent to an announcement that informs the caller that you are not receiving calls at this time.

Special Call Acceptance: Screens incoming calls by creating a list of phone numbers from which you are willing to accept calls. Calls from numbers not contained on your list are sent to an announcement that informs the caller that you are not receiving calls at this time.

Call Hold: Allows you to dial a special code and place someone on hold when you want to initiate a second call, or when you need to talk privately with someone else in the room. You can also place a call on hold, hang up, listen for ringing, and retrieve the call from another extension of the same phone line.

Wake-Up Service: Programs your telephone to make a call to yourself at a predetermined time and receive an appropriate announcement that this is your wake-up / reminder call.

TeleMarketer Call Screening: Intercepts these calls with a message that you do not accept calls from any telemarketers.  Best of all, it does it silently – your phone doesn’t ring.  Other callers are advised to dial 1 to be connected.
